Poe and the Middle East
The Poe Studies Association seeks abstracts for 15-20 minute papers on
the place of the Middle East in Poe's writings for one of our two panels
at the 2008 American Literature Association conference. Possible topics
include the aesthetics and cultural politics of Poe's concept of the
arabesque, Orientalist aspects of Poe's works, Poe's representations and
adaptations of the religions and literatures of the Middle East, and Poe

not listed here are welcome as well.
