CALL FOR PAPERS

Announcement of a Call for Papers to Appear in a New Collection

Negotiating the Sacred and Profane in Early Modern Literature

Essays are now being accepted for a new publication of essays, presently
entitled Negotiating the Sacred and Profane in Early Modern Literature.
These essays should consider the relationship between the sacred and
profane in the poetry, prose, and/or dramatic literature of the early
modern period. Essays might focus on a specific work or consider
broader issues and their relationship to one or more early modern
writers.

Please send a one-page abstract, in hardcopy or by e-mail, to Dr. Mary
A. Papazian by September 15, 2003.

Final essays should be 20-35 pages long, including bibliography,
double-spaced, and prepared in MLA style. Final copy should be
submitted either by e-mail or hardcopy with diskette. Deadline for
submission of completed essays is May 15, 2004.

Dr. Papazian is Professor of English and Associate Dean of the College
of Arts & Sciences at Oakland University, in Rochester, MI. She is a
specialist on John Donne and the early modern period. Her newly edited
collection, John Donne and the Protestant Reformation, is forthcoming
from Wayne State University Press in July 2003.
