Call for Papers
Dear Colleague,
The Twentieth International Conference of the Spanish Society for
Medieval English Language & Literature will be held at the University of
Oviedo, from the 2nd to the 4th of October 2008.

Scientific programme
SELIM XX will include sessions on Medieval English language and
linguistics, literature, textual and cultural studies, and comparative
issues. The conference begins formally on Thursday 2 October and finishes
on Saturday 4 October. There will be a warmup late evening session on the
1st of October.
Social programme
SELIM XX will be an opportunity for socialising in a remarkable way. A
programme with excursions, visits to monumental areas, a concert and a
conference dinner will be announced soon.
Keynote spakers
Plenary lectures will be given by:
Roger Lass (Cape Town) - Sally Mapstone (Oxford) - Ruth Carroll (Turku) -
Alberto Lázaro (Alcalá)

Papers & Posters
Participants are invited to send their proposals for paper or poster
presentations.
Presentations should be about 15-20 minutes long. Some extra 10 minutes
will be allowed for questions and debate.
The language of the conference is English (preferred), but contributions
in Spanish (no interpreting facilities) will also be accepted.
Please send your abstract in English to: selim_at_web.uniovi.es using a word-
processor file (.doc, .rtf). Include your name, address and affiliation.
