CFP: [Medieval] Sessions on Medieval and Renaissance Art
The University of Virginiaâ€™s College at Wise Medieval-Renaissance
Conference is pleased to announce a special session on Medieval and
Renaissance Art. The session / sessions will welcome proposals dealing
with all aspects of art in the Middle Ages or Renaissance.
Special consideration will be given to topics that address interrelations
between art and literature, including: The medieval codex/manuscript as
visual art; the influence of literature on art; tapestry as text, etc.
This yearâ€™s keynote addressed will be delivered by David J. Bernstein,
professor of history at Sarah Lawrence College and author of The Mystery of
the Bayeux Tapestry. He will be speaking on Reading Romanesque Last
Judgment Tympana: Autun and Conques.
