UPDATE for Call for Papers: Collection on Oscar Wilde’s 'The Importance
of Being Earnest':
FINAL EXTENSION OF DEADLINE:

We thank you very much for your interest in our collection. A number of
our prospective contributors have recently requested us to extend the
deadline for the last time as they could not finish their researches.
Therefore, the editorial board of ROMAN Books has taken a decision that
there would be a FINAL EXTENSION OF DEADLINE.

THE NEW DEADLINE IS 28th FEBRUARY 2009.

Early submission is always welcome and highly appreciated. Please note
that this deadline will NOT be extended again.

ROMAN Books, a leading publisher of India, is planning to publish a book
on Oscar Wilde’s 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. The book, forthcoming
in September 2009, will include an introduction, annotated text, critical
commentary and a collection of critical essays on this famous play by
Wilde.

We are presently seeking articles on any topic related to 'The Importance
of Being Earnest' for possible publication in the ‘Critical Essays’
section of the book.

NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS:

If you have NOT already, you need to contact the editor with the working
title and an estimated word limit of your essay as soon as possible.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. The maximum word limit permissible for each article is 3000. Longer
articles or articles with less than 1500 words may also be accepted with
prior arrangements with the editor.

2. The article MUST be directly related to 'The Importance of Being
Earnest'. The author may, if necessary, include discussions on any other
related texts written by Oscar Wilde. But the predominant discussion MUST
be linked to 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. If your article is
confined to a general topic related to Oscar Wilde and not to 'The
Importance of Being Earnest', it may also be eligible for submission.
But the author is requested to discuss the matter with the editor of the
publication, prior to submission.

3. Previously published articles are welcome if the contributor owns the
copyright of the article. Please mention in your covering e-mail where
the article was first published.

4. Please use endnotes and NOT footnotes.

5. Please use UK English spellings.

6. Please follow the MHRA Style for citation. The style guide is
available for a free download from:

7. Please send your articles as an MS Word attachment with a covering e-

8. In your covering e-mail please mention clearly your name, contact
details and your institutional affiliation (if any).

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:

28th February 2009. Early submission highly appreciated.

Decision will be notified by end-March. If a revision is required, the
revised article should be submitted by end-April 2009. Please note that
these deadlines CANNOT be extended by prior arrangements.

RIGHTS:

In accordance with the requirement of the publisher, the author has to
transfer the copyright of his / her contribution to the appropriate
authority. However, the author will be given UNRESTRICTED PERMISSION to
copy / publish / reproduce his / her article anywhere in any form. The
Copyright Assignment Form will be sent to the author after the acceptance
of his / her article.

HONORARIUM:

The author will be given four copies of the book as honorarium. Special
discounts will be given if he / she wants to buy more copies.
