The James Agee Society requests proposals for 20-minute presentations to be
delivered at the 2008 American Literature Conference on any aspect of James
Agee's work. Recent topics have included Agee's poetry, reconsiderations of
Let Us Now Praise Famous Men and The Morning Watch, and Agee as film critic
and translator of foreign films. Of particular interest are papers treating
the restored edition of A Death in the Family. Send 250-word abstracts by
January 20, 2008, to Hugh Davis at hdavis3_at_utk.edu.

The American Literature Association's 19th annual conference will meet at
the Hyatt Regency San Francisco in Embarcadero Center on May 22-25, 2008
(Thursday through Sunday of Memorial Day weekend). For further information,
