CFP Williams Society sponsored MLA panels, San Francisco December 27-30, 2008

William Carlos Williams, the Beats, and the San Francisco Scene

Papers are sought that examine Williams’s relationship to, or influence on,
San Francisco poets, ranging from Allen Ginsberg and the Beats, to Kenneth
Rexroth, Robert Duncan and others.

The Williams of Paterson Book V

Papers are invited to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the
publication of Book V of Paterson (1958). The panel will explore William
Carlos Williams’s later poetry, and might include the relationship of
Paterson V to the rest of the poem, Book V itself, or other work by
Williams contemporary with Book V.
