CFP: American Globalism (grad & undergrad) (2/18/07; 3/30/07)full name / name of organization: Jessica Rivait contact email: j.rivait@wayne.edu Y/X Undergraduate and Graduate Research Conference Since its inception in 2001, the Y/X conference has given undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to explore what “America†means in a variety of contexts. This year, the WSU American Studies Program invites papers and creative works that investigate how globalism and “America†relate to one another. In the context of globalism, what are the “boundaries†of “America� How are these “boundaries†established, transcended, or disturbed? Possible topics may include (but are not limited to): *The Impact of American Globalism on Literary Genres We welcome scholarly works, creative presentations, and multi-media presentations. Two-hundred-word abstracts for individual papers must include the prospective presenter’s name, department and university affiliation, level of study (undergraduate or graduate), and email address in the upper right corner of the page. Panel submissions are also welcome and must be accompanied by a cover sheet detailing the applicability of the panel to the conference theme and the panelists’ names; the individual abstracts for a panel must be stapled to the cover sheet and must contain the information mentioned above. An email regarding whether papers have been accepted or declined will be sent via email on March 1, 2007.
