CFP: [Postcolonial] Sri Lanka

This panel seeks papers on any aspect of Sri Lankan society, culture, and
politics for the Annual Conference on South Asia in Madison, Wisconsin
scheduled for October 16-18, 2008.

Especially welcome are papers on the following topics:
-The Ethnic conflict
-Cricket
-Sri Lankan domestic workers abroad
-Contemporary Sinhala Cinema and War
-Controversial Filmmakers (Asoka Handagama, Vimukthi Jayasundara, Satyajit
Maitipe, etc.,)
-Sri Lankan War Crimes and the West (the case, for instance, of Raja
Kasturiarachchi)
-Contemporary Fiction written in Tamil, Sinhala, or English

Send 250-word proposals by March 1st 2008 to Nalin Jayasena
(jayasen_at_muohio.edu).
Please include a one-page CV with your proposal.
Presenters whose abstracts are selected must register for the conference by
March 21st.
