Call for papers for an edited anthology of Critical Essays
Call for essays for a book titled, Subaltern Vision: a Study in
Postcolonial Indian English Novel -- co-edited by Ujjwal Jana, Amrita
Ghosh, and Aparajita De.
To be Published by-
New Delhi - India
With an intention to recover what â€œintends to be retrievedâ€ (in Spivakâ€™s
words), this volume of essays seeks 20 page essays on subalternity as
presented in postcolonial Indian English literature. The editors are
especially interested about scholarly essays on gendered subaltern agency,
subaltern subjectivity/identity, and in general on the re-presentation and
understanding of subalternity in postcolonial India .
By no means are the themes and issues limited to the above. We are looking
for essays which look at the Indian English novel or text through the
We invite abstracts (250 words) and brief bio (50 words) by July 15. We
will get back to all contributors by August 15, 2008 with our decisions.
All essay submissions are due by October 30, 2008.
Essays should be 20 pages long (plus Endnotes and Works Cited) and should
comply with MLA citations.
