"Flannery O'Connor: Critical Intersections"

Flannery O'Connor Society, 2008 South Central Modern Language
Association Convention November 6-8.

San Antonio, Texas

Flannery O'Connor's stories, novels, essays, letters, and interviews
reveal a writer concerned with her relationship to the South, to
regional identity, and to racial politics. In light of the theme of
"Borders" for the 2008 conference of the South Central Modern Language
Association, the Flannery O'Connor Society seeks proposals for papers
that consider O'Connor's work as intersecting with a variety of
critical disciplines, including (but not limited to) new southern
studies, cultural studies, hemispheric American studies, and studies
of critical race theory.
