The Seventh Annual Conference on Teaching Medieval Literature: Teaching
the Quest

Keynote Lecture by Edward Donald Kennedy, Professor of English and
Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill. Professor Kennedy will be speaking on the Grail Quest motif in
Medieval and 19th and 20th Century literature. The seventh annual
conference on Teaching Medieval Literature is designed for both
medievalists and non-specialists who teach medieval literature to
undergraduates in English, English Education, and World literature
courses and to advanced high school students. One-page proposals are
invited for fifteen-minute presentations on best practices as they
relate to teaching the quest. Suggestions include (but are not limited
to) teaching the quest in medieval literature, the quest and
medievalism, and the quest in popular culture. Conference organizers are
pursuing possibilities for publication of the best papers delivered at
