While we hope to present the work of Kansas teachers, we look for good
work from all over the U.S. and abroad to address the theme: Made in
Kansas.

Are you a Kansas native teaching far from "fly-over country"? Do you
research Kansas history and literature? Do you have an obsession with
The Wizard of Oz (the film of which was not even made in Kansas!), do
you have an article half started on Langston Hughes? William Stafford?
Bob Dole? Gwendolyn Brooks? Elizabeth "Grandma" Layton? Brown v. Board
of Education?=20

We look for explorations of the people and places, the arts and crafts,
the myths and realities made in Kansas. This is a broad theme, we
realize, and we are especially interested in how writers can connect
their exploration of what might be made in Kansas to what might be
taught in Kansas and beyond.=20

Please format submissions using MLA style. We welcome personal essays,
poetry, interviews, and research articles. Contact the editors with
further questions.
