Scott Lucas and Ayesha Ramachandran are hoping to put together a panel
on Spenser's poetry for the 2009 Sixteenth Century Studies Conference,
which will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 28-30, 2009. In
keeping with the location of this year's SCSC, our panel is titled "The
European Context of Spenser's Poetry." We are defining the topic
broadly and welcome any proposal investigating the influence of medieval
or Renaissance continental European literature or thought upon the
poetry of Edmund Spenser (or, perhaps, the influence of Spenser's verse
upon the poetry of continental Europe).

Please send a brief abstract (100 words or so) to either Ayesha
Ramachandran at ayesha.ramachandran_at_stonybrook.edu or Scott Lucas at
Scott.Lucas_at_Citadel.edu . The deadline for abstracts is November 5,
2008. For more information, contact Scott Lucas at the email address
above.
