CFP: [Rhetoric-Composition] RMMLA 2008, Reno: Teaching English
Submit 300 word abstracts by March 1.
This panel is seeking papers that explore the use of literature in the
teaching of writing and the continued importance of pedagogies that focus
on both reading and writing strategies. In a period where the teaching of
writing and the teaching of literature are often seen as essentially
separate categories of English studies, how might we re-think the
connection between what we read and how we write? This panel will
consider the place of writing in the literature classroom and the place of
literature in the writing classroom. Papers might address the divide
between composition studies and literary studies, specific pedagogical
practices that aim to combine literature and writing instruction in new
ways, &c. Please submit abstracts by email as ms-word files or copy/paste
to the body of the email.
Notification will follow on March 15.
Please be current in your dues by April 1.
Scheduling and Audio-Visual Equipment requests must be made by May 1.
