I plan a collection of essays on the connection between texts and
politics in the Romantic period. The collection will support the idea
that the text sometimes became a political work which called for
political reflection and/or change. Essays should therefore investigate
the works of writers who used their texts to reflect their political
leanings and ideologies. This collection of essays will reinforce the
notion that the political activism often associated with the Romantic
time period was promoted through the literature produced by Romantic
writers.

Please submit essays of about 20 - 25 pages by January 31, 2009:
