Call for Papers: Science as Culture (journal)

We are looking for two essays to complete a special edition of this
interdisciplinary journal on The New Genetics: Linguistic and Literary
Metaphors and the Social Construction of the Genome. We need papers that
examine the relationship between science, literature, society and
real-world culture. Theory matters, but so does engagement with social
issues. Papers will be read by a scholarly generalist audience. Papers on
any topic of this issue are welcome, but the special issue as a whole does
have a cross-European theme. Ideally, we are looking for a length between
4,000-6,000 words. Other lengths and topics will be considered. The
possibility of a further project exists, as a follow-up to this piece.
Preliminary statements of enquiry may be sent immediately, to
kerry.kidd_at_nottingham.ac.uk: Completed drafts need to be submitted by
mid-September.

Please send enquiries either to kerry.kidd_at_nottingham.ac.uk or to
brigitte.nerlich_at_nottingham.ac.uk.
