This panel seeks papers and presentations that examine local, national,
and global border politics through an ecocritical lens. With the passing of NAFTA and WTO, the formation of the European Union (EU)—among other organizations—we have had to rethink our interaction with the world and the places we inhabit. How have these various political and economic agreements affected borderlands and border localities, not only in the notions of place, but also in people's participation in that place?

A variety of perspectives are encouraged for this panel, including (but
not limited to): literary, theoretical, social/cultural, economic, political, and philosophical.

Please plan a 15 minute presentation. Submit title and 300 word
