CFP: Disability, HIV/AIDS & Culture (3/15/07; MLA '07)full name / name of organization: Bell, Christopher contact email: christopher.bell@ntu.ac.uk Disconnections and missed connections between the spheres of disability, HIV/AIDS and culture. How do the three inform each other? How can they be (and are they) prioritized and with what investments? Which (types of) individuals navigate the three spheres and with what results?
Potential topics of discussion include, but are not limited to:
Representation in literature, music and art Reception and reception theory Knowledge production Activism and histories of activism Ideologies of "cure" Politics and body politics Identity and identity construction Intersectionality

All submissions will be anonymously peer-reviewed by members of the MLA's Executive Committee of the Division on Disability Studies. All submissions will receive a response. Selected participants must register as MLA members by 31 March.
