CFP: Journal of Drama Studies call for reviews (5/1/07; journal issue)
Journal of Drama Studies: An International Journal of European and
Anglo-American Drama continues to accept book reviews on an
ongoing basis on works relating to European and Anglo-American drama and
theatre. In order to be considered for the next issue
the deadline is 1 May, 2007.
We are interested in book reviews of and about European and Anglo-American
drama. We are
also interested in reviews of books on theatre of the aboriginals and
Natives. The reviews
should be between 1,000 and 1,500 words in length. The reviews may be on
either contemporary or historical examples of the genres. If historical,
the review should reflect at least a passing familiarity with past
critical perspectives on the work and contribute new insights. For reviews
of books that are not recent publications, reviews should consider why
the book is worth re-examining at this time (e.g., as a teacher's
resource, as a writer's resource, and so on).
Reviewers should also indicate why they are qualified to review the
material and should be sensitive to conflicts of interest.
For the present issue reviewers should propose books they would like to
