CALL FOR PAPERS
Tennessee Williams Scholars' Conference 2008
Presented in conjunction with the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary
Festival
The Historic New Orleans Collection
Williams Research Center, 410 Chartres Street
New Orleans, LA
Friday, March 28, 2008
The Tennessee Williams Scholars’ Conference invites the submission of
essays on virtually any topic related Tennessee Williams’s plays, poetry,
fiction, and essays, as well as papers dealing with film adaptations of
his plays. All first-time presenters are required to submit a full-
length essay (10-15 pp.) that will be refereed by Williams specialists.
Although full-length submissions are required, presenters at the
conference will read only an abstract (1-2 pp.) of their essays, thus
allowing for questions/comments from the audience and an intellectually
lively give-and-take.
Papers accepted for the Scholars' Conference may also be considered for
publication in The Tennessee Williams Annual Review, a scholarly journal
published in partnership with The Historic New Orleans Collection.
Conference presenters receive free admission to several events associated
with the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival (March 26–30),
as well as a reduced hotel rate.
