The Play’s the Thing: Language Play & Performativity (5/20/2008; SAMLA
11/7/2008-11/9/2008)
The Modern Drama session for the 2008 SAMLA Convention seeks papers which
explore the dynamic relationship between language play and performance.
Presentations might focus on French-language plays, poetic drama, the
role of the avant-garde and language experiments, or theories of
performativity. Other topics also welcomed.
Please submit 300-word abstracts, a brief biography, and contact
information to Barbara Cole (bacole_at_buffalo.edu) by May 20, 2008.
Presenters must be members of SAMLA by the time of the convention.
