NYU's Program in Educational Theatre invites you to submit a proposal for
our sixth annual forum, entitled Theatre Pedagogy: Teaching the Art Form
which will be held in New York City, Thursday April 23rd through Sunday
April 26th, 2009. Our program has been a leader in investigating and
engaging in the teaching of theatre for the past four decades. Currently,
through our extensive curricular offerings (which range from
undergraduate to doctoral programs of study), we, as practitioners, are
constantly exploring new ways to reinvigorate our pedagogical approaches
to keep them both vital and innovative. For more information about NYU's
Program in Educational Theatre, please visit our website: The goal of this forum is to
facilitate dynamic exchange with the best teachers of theatre on all
educational levels and to talk about what works in theory, in practice,
and the space between -- sharing inspirations, challenges and
discoveries -- whether in teaching and presenting the art form,
integrating drama into any given theatre curriculum, or engaging in
teacher preparation. For our 2009 Forum, we invite artists, educators and
researchers, as well as those who play all three roles, to share and
discuss ways and means of teaching theatre. Please find our call for
proposals and our proposal submission form attached to this e-mail.
Proposals are due January 15, 2009. Please pass this along to any
colleagues and friends that may be interested in submitting a proposal
and/or attending what promises to be an exciting and dynamic conference.
Information on the conference, registration, accommodations, and getting
around NYC is available on our conference website:
