Alan Hollinghurst won the 2006 Man/Booker prize for his novel, "The Line of Beauty." All of his works have a gay character that are central to the novel. What are common themes that appear in his books? Can these stories be told through a narrative/main character who is heterosexual? All presentations that center on Hollinghurst and his novels are welcome.

We are pleased to announce that this yearâ€™s keynote speakers are Bonnie Zimmerman and Karen Tongson. Bonnie Zimmerman comes to us from San Diego State University where she is associate vice President for Faculty Affairs. She is well-known for her published work in Feminist and Lesbian studies, along with extensive articles and lectures on topics such as and author George Elliot. Karen Tongson is Assistant Professor of English and Gender Studies at the University of Southern California. She has published essays on topics ranging from Thomas Moore's Irish Melodies, to dyke film-maker and provocateur Lynne Chan's JJ Chinois projects. Her current work focuss on emergent queer of color suburban imaginaries.
