Proposals are invited for papers and panels; possible topics include =96 =
but
are not limited to =96 history of the book, print culture, travel =
journals,
mapping and surveying, eighteenth-century media, the visual and the
performing arts, adaptations, journalism and pamphleteering, reviews and
periodicals, academies, encyclopedias and dictionaries, oral culture and
folklore, oratory, the eighteenth century in twenty-first century
technology, cartoons and satire, tracts and the working-class press,
reception history, manuscripts, salons, epistolarity, intellectual =
circles.
(As is traditional in CSECS, proposals not on the conference theme will =
also
be considered.) =20
