CFP Detail:
This session will explore the intersection of hard-boiled and Southern
fiction. Suggested topics include but are not limited to Southern crime
writers such as Elmore Leonard, Charles Willeford, Horace McCoy, James Lee
Burke, Vicki Hendricks, Jim Thompson, Daniel Woodrell and/or hard-boiled
elements in the work of William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, Robert Penn
Warren, Charles Portis, Cormac McCarthy, James Dickey, Larry Brown, Richard
Ford, Harry Crews, and Barry Hannah. Papers should be approximately fifteen
minutes long. Please submit title and brief abstract to William Boyle
