UPDATE "Julian Barnes and the European Tradition"-conference, 13-15 June,
2008, Liverpool, UK.

Julian Barnes will deliver a lecture as part of the conference, to be
held 13-15 June, in Liverpool: "Cervantes and Flaubert: Reading Through".

A public event with John Mullan (UCL,The Guardian) and a tour of
Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008, are also part of the
conference programme. Other keynote speakers include Vanessa Guignery
(Sorbonne), Merritt Moseley (North Carolina) and contributions by Peter
Childs (Gloucestershire), Amanda Hopkinson(UEA) and Barnes's translators.

The deadline for proposals for short papers has been extended till 1 May.
