CFP: [20th] MSAX: Modernism and Left Politics
This panel will examine Modernism and Left politics. A member of our
panel, unfortunately, will be unable read his paper and so we have a last
minute opening for proposals. We currently have a paper that explores
depression-era transnational radical film theory and one that reexamines
the radical Wobbly rail rider in John Dos Passos’ U.S.A.
We are seeking a third paper that examines the way that Left politics
inform/transform the modernist text. Issues dealing with critical
evaluation, production and consumption are welcome.
Please send abstracts of 350 words or less and a very brief scholarly bio
to John Lennon (jlennon01_at_gmail.com) and Chris Robe (crobe_at_fau.edu) by
Thursday, May 8. We will send in our panel proposal on Friday morning, so
this deadline is firm. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.
