PANEL: Women’s Revisions
18th and 19th Century British Women Writers Conference: Fresh Threads of Connection
Iowa City, IA
April 2-5, 2009
http://www.uiowa.edu/~englgrad/bwwc/

This panel is interested in exploring how women writers of the 18th and 19th centuries connected
themselves to the literary world by revisioning male texts and making them their own. Such
revisioning might be a politically subversive act, a sophisticated reworking of an earlier text, or a
tribute to an influential writer. All genres and periods; sensation fiction is particularly welcome.
