Special Topic session at RMMLA: "Mothers in Literature of Women of Color in the 20th Century
My name is Melissa Whitney. I am the session chair for the special topics session "Mothers in Literature of Women of Color in the Twentieth Century" at this year's RMMLA conference in Snowbird, Utah.
I am looking for mother-daughter relationships in particular but the session is not limited to that relationship. I am encouraging papers who deal with how mothers mother and the relationship between a mother's mothering and the psychological impact it has on her child, but any subject matter connected to mothers in literature of women of color will be considered. While my particular focus is on African American Women, I also encourage papers and research on literature of Chicana, Latina, Native American women etc.
Graduate as well as undergraduate and independent scholars are encouraged to send their paper proposals to Maycefirstname.lastname@example.org or Melissa.Whitney@utsa.edu
The deadline for paper proposals is March 1 by 5 p.m.
