Ancient and Modern Relations - PAMLA, March 30, 2009 - San Franciscofull name / name of organization: Andrew Warren contact email: warrena@uci.edu I will be chairing a panel on Ancient-Modern Relations at November's Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association's conference in San Francisco. The conference tends to be wide-ranging, so work on anything related to the topic is welcome. Of particular interest are issues related to: Romanticism, the C19, and Modernism; "Orientalism" and/in the Ancient World; Postcolonial approaches to and definitions of the "Ancient"; and Critical Theory's debt to Ancient Philosophy. But again, this is a broadly defined panel, and all proposals dealing with Ancient and Modern Relations are welcome. The conference dates are November 6-7, 2009, in San Francisco.
