M/MLA session seeks papers addressing the idea of marketing the "Canadian Experience," either in conversation with United States mass culture or in opposition to that culture. Contemporary Canadian fiction examining consumer cultures of the North American continent may be examined in terms of their place in defining Canada as a nation.
