Current Research on Cervantes (Abstract Deadline 06/15/09)
We invite interdisciplinary papers that analyze any aspect of the works of Miguel de Cervantes. Possible topics may include, but are not limited, to the following: relevance of Cervantes in today's literature, place of Cervantes's minor works in the literary canon, masculine and feminine discourses in his prose works, intersection among literature, politics and religion in any of his works, space and identity formation, and images of mythology. The work(s) of Cervantes may also be compared and contrasted with that of another Spanish author. Paper presentations are limited to 20 minutes. Potential panelists should submit abstracts of approximately 200-250 words by June 15th to Maria Mizzi, The University of Georgia, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
