EAPSU Conference, October 22-24, 2009. Proposals due July 1, 2009.full name / name of organization: English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities contact email: Laurie Cella, ljcella@ship.edu The 2009 EAPSU (English Association of Pennsylvania State Universities) Conference will be held at Shippensburg University, October 22-24, 2009. The conference theme is "Making Our World: Language, Literacy and Culture." We invite proposals from faculty and students for presentations, roundtable discussions, and workshops that address how the work of English studies continues to make and remake our communities, our classrooms, and the world around us. Topics include, but are not limited to: Literatures, Popular Culture & Film, Composition and Pedagogy, and Creative Texts: Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction, and Poetry. Our featured keynote speaker this year will be Ms. Dorothy Allison. Dorothy Allison is the author of the prize-winning novel, Bastard out of Carolina and Cavedweller, as well as the books Two or Three Things I know for Sure, Trash, Skin, and The Women Who Hate Me.
