Science Fiction and Fantasy (11/15/2009; 2/11/2010-2/13/2010)full name / name of organization: Life, the Universe, & Everything XXVIII contact email: academics@ltue.org Life, the Universe, and Everything XXVIII: The Marion K. “Doc” Smith Symposium on Science Fiction and Fantasy will be held February 11-13, 2010, on the Provo, Utah, campus of Brigham Young University. (For more information, see http://ltue.org.) Guest of honor is Brandon Sanderson. Admission is free. We are especially interested in papers in the following areas (but others may be considered): • Literary criticism/analysis of sf&f and related literature (medieval, renaissance, mythology, magic realism, etc.) • LDS (Mormon) culture, literature, and society in relation to sf&f • Science and technology (especially new or unusual) • Analysis of sf&f relating to poetry and/or theatre • Serious analysis of sf&f in cinema, television, radio, and other media Submit _full papers_ for consideration to LTUE--Academics, 4087 JKB, Provo, UT 84602, or email electronic submissions in RTF format to academics@ltue.org. Include name, phone number, mailing address, and email address on cover sheet. Papers submitted without contact information will not be considered. Student papers welcome. Papers must be submitted by November 15, 2009.
