Call for Papers: Theodore Dreiser Panels at ALA 2010

The International Theodore Dreiser Society will sponsor two sessions at the American Literature Association Conference in San Francisco on May 27-30, 2010.

1. Theodore Dreiser's Other Careers

Dreiser is best known as a novelist, but this panel seeks papers that consider Dreiser's other careers, loosely defined: his work as an editor, as a journalist, as a poet, as a dramatist, as a travel writer, as a public intellectual, and so forth. Also encouraged are papers that compare and contrast Dreiser's early and late writings.

2. Open topic. Papers may be submitted on any topic concerning Dreiser or his work.

Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes.

Please send brief proposals (1-2 pages) by email to the program chair by 10 January 2010:
