Literatures of Time and Space - proposed BSLS panel (8-10 April 2010); abstract deadline 10 December 2009full name / name of organization: Elizabeth Throesch contact email: e.throesch@yorksj.ac.uk Call for submissions to a proposed panel on the interaction between theories of time and space in literature for the upcoming British Society for Literature and Science conference (8-10 April 2010). Additionally, these proposals will be considered for a future proposal to the RCLAS Journal of Literature and Science for a special issue on time and space.
Topics might include: Relativity's impact on literature and culture the fourth dimension occultist and mystical theories of time and space the work of authors such as Charles Howard Hinton, Edward Abbott, H.G. Wells, Gertrude Stein, J.W. Dunne, Henri Bergson, Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, W.E.B. Du Bois, Thomas Pynchon, etc theories of time and/or space in geometry, geography, physics and literary theory
