In commemoration of the 50 year anniversary of Zora Neale Hurston’s death, the 2010 Heart’s Day Conference at Howard University (to be held Friday, February 12, 2010) focuses the impact of Hurston’s legacies on the theoretical, creative, and cultural production in America and beyond. Presenters are particularly encouraged but not limited to examinations of developments in fiction, criticism, theory, and cultural productions since Hurston but also prefigured in her work.
Papers on her Howard University and Barnard College years and on her international impact are also welcomed.
