The Conference on Christianity and Literature invites submissions of abstracts for a CCL roundtable session at the annual MLA Convention in January 2011. The session will be called "The English Bible." Approaches may vary, but especially welcomed will be papers responding to the 400th anniversary of the King James Version in 2011— its composition, style, influence, &c. General topics may include origins, translation (theory or cultural context), biblical poetics, material books, reading practices, reception, &c. Brief abstracts for papers (to be distributed in advance) should be sent to Brett Foster (brett.foster@wheaton.edu) by March 10, 2010.
