Arab American Art and Culture:
Challenges, Reappraisals, and Possibilities
RAWI, the Radius of Arab American Writers, announces its third national conference, "Arab American Art and Culture: Challenges, Reappraisals, and Possibilities. This conference will bring together Arab American, Arab, and Anglophone-Arab writers of all genres in performance, critique, and conversation.
RAWI welcomes individual paper or full panel proposals. Individual paper proposals should include a presentation title, short biography, and 300-word abstract. Full panel proposals should include presenter bios, both panel and presentation titles, and a description of each presentation, including titles.
In keeping with its mission to promote Arab American arts and mentor writers of all ages, RAWI will sponsor a number of creative writing workshops led by notable authors. The conference will also feature various literary and dramatic performances, cultural exhibitions, and critical panels.
The conference will take place at the Palmer House Commons on the campus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor which offers numerous entertainment options and cultural amenities. We invite all members of the Arab American community and our friends and allies to join together in spirit and conversation to appraise and reappraise the future of Arab American art and culture.
Proposals will be accepted on a competitive basis. Please send proposals to email@example.com. Deadline for submitting paper, performance, or panel abstracts is February 1, 2010.
All RAWI members will have access to the RAWI website (www.rawi.org) and all its networking features. By joining RAWI, you know you are supporting a prominent organization that is focused on Arab American arts and culture.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEES
All participants in the conference (presenters, attendees, workshop participants) must register for the conference. To register for RAWI 2010, go to www.rawi.org.

Non-member: $90 (includes one-year membership)
Student*: $60 (includes one-year membership)
1-Day Pass: ($35)
(*Documentation of student status must be presented at the conference for confirmation.)

The book display area will be located in a prominent space for promoting your publications. Space is limited so reserve your table soon. Payment received by January 15, 2010 will allow your staff to participate in all conference activities and events. We will confirm your space upon receipt of your reservation and payment.
