RAWI Conference CFP [1 Feb. 2010, 3-6 Jun. 2010]full name / name of organization: Conference of Radius of Arab American Writers contact email: conference2010@rawi.org Arab American Art and Culture: RAWI, the Radius of Arab American Writers, announces its third national conference, "Arab American Art and Culture: Challenges, Reappraisals, and Possibilities. This conference will bring together Arab American, Arab, and Anglophone-Arab writers of all genres in performance, critique, and conversation. RAWI welcomes individual paper or full panel proposals. Individual paper proposals should include a presentation title, short biography, and 300-word abstract. Full panel proposals should include presenter bios, both panel and presentation titles, and a description of each presentation, including titles. In keeping with its mission to promote Arab American arts and mentor writers of all ages, RAWI will sponsor a number of creative writing workshops led by notable authors. The conference will also feature various literary and dramatic performances, cultural exhibitions, and critical panels. The conference will take place at the Palmer House Commons on the campus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor which offers numerous entertainment options and cultural amenities. We invite all members of the Arab American community and our friends and allies to join together in spirit and conversation to appraise and reappraise the future of Arab American art and culture. Proposals will be accepted on a competitive basis. Please send proposals to conference2010@rawi.org. Deadline for submitting paper, performance, or panel abstracts is February 1, 2010.
