DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31 JANUARY: Knowledge Crossing Borders: Opportunities and Challenges in Regional, Transnational and Global Collaboratives. In increasingly globalized and technologically-driven societies, geographical and intellectual borders are reconstructed and reconfigured to create opportunities and challenges for countries, for disciplines, and for institutions. Political, economic, and sociocultural issues condition the production, dissemination, and ownership of knowledge. This interdisciplinary conference examines how knowledge transactions across borders create these challenges and opportunities in research, pedagogical, and administrative acts in higher education. Key topics: sustainable development; information technology, communication, and education; economic, geographic, and physical challenges to educational access; student retention and success; access to external resources; art across borders; global public health and bioethics; globalized humanities; copyright and intellectual property.
