McGill University’s Graduate Group for Feminist Scholarship requests papers for our annual interdisciplinary symposium on Thursday, May 13, 2010. This year’s conference theme is: “Performing Feminism(s): Gender and Sexuality on Display.” We invite papers on this topic from scholars engaged or interested in feminist, gender, LGBTQ, and sexuality studies across disciplines, although interesting proposals on any relevant topic will be considered.
Topics to consider include, but are not limited to:

public and private speech acts
sexing performative spaces
gendered bodies on stage
feminist and/or queer studies on film and television
gender, sexuality, and dance
gender, sexuality, and musical performance
social activism in performance
sexuality and gender in politics
gendered bodies at work
sexuality, gender, and self-presentation
performing gender roles in public and/or private
medical and scientific understandings of gender and sexuality
psychology of gender or sexual performance
gendering private and public health
gender and sexuality in professional sports
