Homebuilding in African American Literature
This panel will explore domestic arrangements in black-authored texts of any time period. If submissions engage literature beyond the boundaries of the United States, the panel title will be changed accordingly. Potential panelists are asked to consider the cultural work that is accomplished by literary portrayals of home life. How do our findings confirm or complicate accepted scholarly understandings of black domesticity?
Please send 500-word abstract and a brief vita by 8 Mar. 2010.
