From the prehistoric cave paintings at Foz Coa, Portugal, to "Duke, the Dog Priest" ("O Cachorro Padre"),Domicio Coutinho's recent novel set in Brazilian New York, man's best friend has frequently been depicted in the cultural production of the Portuguese speaking world. This panel will examine the various representation of dogs and the canine in all art forms from across the Lusophone world.
