Call for Proposals:
Rodopi Press announces a new series of literary studies
entitled "Dialogue" under the general editorship of Michael J. Meyer. The series will offer new and experienced scholars the opportunity to present alternative readings and approaches to classic texts. Plans are being made for a volume on Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio. The editor for this volume is Precious McKenzie Stearns (University of South Florida).
Winesburg, Ohio has been considered one of the foundational texts of twentieth-century American literature. Winesburg explores isolation, sexuality, and frustration through the interconnected lives of fictional Midwesterners. The major goal of the Dialogue series seeks new approaches and insights that will enliven the text and promote further discussion of the work.
Please email Precious McKenzie Stearns firstname.lastname@example.org for a more detailed list of topics. Paper proposals are due on or before May 15, 2010.
Authors will be notified by August 1, 2010 if their proposal has been accepted. Completed essays will be due May 1, 2011. For consistency, the editors ask that all contributors cite the Norton Critical Edition of Winesburg, Ohio.
