Geocritical Explorations: Space, Place, and Mapping in Literary and Cultural Studies
(Collection of Critical Essays)
Send 300-word abstract and brief CV to robert.tally@txstate.edu by March 8, 2010.

On the heels of a successful MLA special session panel devoted to the subject of “geocriticism,” I welcome contributions to a proposed collection of essays, "Geocritical Explorations: Space, Place, and Mapping in Literary and Cultural Studies." Geocriticism is understood broadly, as a critical method that emphasizes the spatial in literary and cultural productions. Papers may discuss the overall theory of geocriticism, compare geocriticism to other areas (e.g., ecocriticism, geopoetics) or disciplines (architecture, philosophy), examine a particular text (for example, performing a geocritical reading of a given novel), or any other related practice. Please send 300-word abstracts and a brief CV to robert.tally@txstate.edu by March 8, 2010. Inquiries also welcome.
