1 May 2010full name / name of organization: Benito Rial Costas contact email: benito@ombrettaetc.net Call for papers for the 2011 Annual Conference of the Renaissance Society of America Dear Colleagues: I am seeking four papers to complete a panel proposal for the 2011 Annual Conference of the Renaissance Society of America, which will take place in Montreal. The panel ‘Printed Books and the Production of Meaning’ explores how printed books’ formal appearances shaped, in Renaissance Europe, the reception of content of certain texts and editions, defined the idea of their genesis or provenance, influenced their use, fulfilled readers’ expectations, and interacted with the book reader, listener and owner. I am especially interested in interdisciplinary proposals that are concerned with history, literature, theology, music, art or any other field related to the key theme of the panel. Please, send a 150 words abstract (longer abstracts will be truncated) to benito@ombrettaetc.net by May 1, 2010. Please include a brief CV and a paragraph describing your area of study, institutional affiliation and email address. Please feel free to distribute this call for papers. cfp categories: bibliography_and_history_of_the_book cultural_studies_and_historical_approaches general_announcements interdisciplinary international_conferences renaissance
