Call for Papers: QUEER STUDIES in Popular Culture
2010 Midwest Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Conference
Friday-Sunday, October 1-3, 2010
More information for the conference is available at: http://www.mpcaaca.org
Deadline: April 30, 2010
The Queer Studies area of the Midwest Popular Culture and Midwest American Culture Association is now accepting proposals for its upcoming Conference in October. The MPCA/MACA conference will be held in Minneapolis, MN October 1-3, 2010.
We are considering proposals for sessions organized around a theme, special panels, and/or individual papers. There are typically 3-4 papers or speakers per standard session.
Topics can include, but are in no way limited to: queer cinema(s); queer fan culture(s); queer bodies; queer youth identity and/or culture; or critiques of sexuality-centered media (e.g., LOGO, Bravo, or The Advocate magazine). However, proposals may address any topic at the intersection of queer studies and popular culture.
For each paper proposal, please submit a title and 250-word abstract, including a mailing address, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address. Panel proposals should include this information for each panelist in addition to a panel title and designated panel chair.
Should you or any of your colleagues be interested in submitting a proposal or have any questions, please contact:
