This Rough Magic (www.thisroughmagic.org) is a peer reviewed, academic, online journal. The journal is affiliated with the State University of New York – Stony Brook and Suffolk County Community College. We are looking for academic, teachable articles devoted to the instruction of Medieval and Renaissance Literature.

Our second electronic edition is coming out August 2010. Individuals still interested in submitting for this issue should send their essay no later than July 15th.

Paper themes should focus on, but are not limited to, the teaching of the following categories:

• Drama
• Epic
• Nation/Empire/Class
• Economics

• Religion
• Superstition
• Philosophy
• Rhetoric
• Race/Ethnicity
• Multi-Culturalism
• Gender
• Sexuality
• Art
Submissions must follow The MLA Handbook with regards to style and bibliography, and are normally between 15 and 35 pages. Further guidelines may be found at our website.
