Do texts portray criminal transgression in the same way as moral transgression? What is the role of punishment in medieval literature? This panel invites proposals for papers that consider crime in medieval literature in relation to such themes as morality, legality, perceptions of the body and the body politic, social cooperation, community, conflict, and conflict resolution.
